Buy new center housings for the stock turbos and swap them out. DO NOT waste money on rebuilds. Fix your clutch and call it a day. When you get out of grad school and get a real job, then you can focus on upgrading and painting the car. As much as the temptation is there, do not try to live beyond your means. All the other options you listed put you too close to financial instability. I've taken the route of putting everything on the credit card and it takes so long to dig yourself out of. Trust me, if you have long term plans to keep this car, there will be plenty of time down the road to meet your speed needs and not have you eating mustard sandwiches to do it.
